Children who need to ingest allergy medicines should start taking them before the onset of the spring. The body's defenses are better prepared to meet the onslaught of pollen. During the season the children should take special care in washing their hair and faces as they come home in the evenings. Pollen is transported by the breeze and can remain in between the hair and on clothes that can cause a lot of respiratory irritation.
